How I Met My Bestfriend On Social Media + Our Shooting Day
On Tuesday I spent the morning with my best friend. We started the morning with come coffee at Lofty Coffee in Encinitas (our typical every week meet up city) and we sipped on our lattes while catching up.
We decided to then drive around Encinitas to scout some potential shooting locations, since we're both major creatures of habit, we wanted to force ourselves out of the usual shooting spots to change up the vibe of our images. & I am SO happy we did. We came across the prettiest little tropical jungle on the side of the road.. not kidding.
All the images I am sharing in this blog post were taken by me. I didn't want this blog post to have images of me, but only ones that I took as I'm really falling in love with being behind the camera.
So here is my one of my best friends Annalisa, looking like a powerful boho beach babe, I love this image so much, the vibe of it is so different from what we normally do.
So, how we became friends.
Yes, we met on Instagram.
& You know what I love most about social media? You can meet amazing people like you! You can look at someones photos, read their captions, watch their stories, find their blogs, and you don't know them yet, but you feel like you do, and when you actually meet that person its like you've been besties forever!
So yes, I met my best friend through Instagram and ever since the first time we hung out we meet up atleast once a week to shoot, or just to talk and get coffee.
I feel like we've known each other forever & its really cool how we inspire and motivate each other. When one of us is feeling lazy the other will hand over a coffee and tell 'em to get their sh** done because we always feel better after we hustle.
We aren't the same person and we don't have to be, we don't agree on everything but we inspire each other to think differently, and try new things. For example, I never would have thought that the white background with the plants would be and ideal place for photos. Annalisa wanted to have that as the background for her images, and I'm so glad we tried it out because it was different and beautiful. I normally go after the lush tropical backgrounds (which we still did) but this new change was so nice!
It can just be little things like this, slight pushes out of each others comfort zones, and thats what friends are for. Friends should inspire you, push you, motivate you to be your best and I feel like we do that for each other!
I really encourage you guys, that if you see someone on social media that looks rad, reach out! Its not creepy or weird! It's so cool to me that you can connect with people who you live close enough to but otherwise would have never met if it weren't for networking on social media!
I feel so blessed to have such a rad friend like Annalisa and having her as some one who understands all aspects of this crazy life is so amazing! We understand eachother and I'm so happy that we were brought together by a simple follow on a social media site. I LOVE YOU GIRL!
I hope you guys enjoy these images and that this blog post inspires you! LINK TO ANNALISA'S BLOG POST HERE!
